AI can create vivid images of warfare and WWI trench warfare is no exception. These haunting images give us an AI insight into the savage period from 1914 to 1918 where battle lines were drawn and trenches played a vital role in supposedly protecting troops whilst they tried to both hold and gain ground in places like the Somme. Unfortunately the commanders would often send troops over the top of the trenches and into a hail of enemy bullets without much consideration for survival strategy, or anything else for that matter. Not much has changed and today troops are still sent into battle by leaders - we humans don't seem to learn anything by our past lethal actions. Anyway - on with the art. We primarily focussed on trench warfare and within this we asked the AI generator (MidJourney) to include Hill 60 - a famous hill where mines were placed under german lines and detonated, the explosion could be heard in London and over 10,000 german soldiers are reported to have been killed in the blast. A huge portion of the entire hill was obliterated and the crater left by the attack is still there even to this day. Also, gas was used during this war to kill the enemy. We have a couple of prompts for gas in there too.
